my philosophy, intention, and practice
Welcome, welcome.. while I’ve included some FAQs below, I also wanted to share a little bit more about my philosophy and practice as well.
I grew up in a family and community of holistic health practitioners, where topics of wellness and health curiosities were the norm. I was always intrigued by what eventually lead people out of dis-ease and into a fuller expression of their health and vitality. So often, I observed that it was not just the named thing they came in for, but rather a co-creative process through which support was leveraged, a corner was turned, and/or a process began to unfold whereby the seeker of recovery (of themselves) was able to more fully step into their body/life/essence/power and gain greater access to choice in navigating their life and relations, in a way that felt (more) empowered, self directed, and true to their essential self/nature.
While I love and continue to enjoy receiving and practicing many different modalities that I have found that support me, my primary intention as a collaborator in the healing arts is to hold a compassionate and empowering space to truly be with people, and to witness and accompany them as they come into alignment with their (own right) way of being.
Sometimes we feel off, sometimes we don’t even notice it, perhaps because we have been living with/from distortion for so long it becomes normalized. An energy-based model looks at the symptom as a way into the system. On this systemic level, all aspects of being are considered (physical, emotional, mental, spiritual), so that our bodies can come into coherence, ease, and therefore vitality, beginning with the underlying energy from which all our dimensions of (well)being are expressed.
This may sound a bit ‘out there’ but now the modern scientific perspective is beginning to understand what ancient and indigenous people have known for millennia. XXX
It is my intention to support people in coming back into integrity with their self to be able to access more choice, freedom, and vitality in whatever moment of life they find themselves.
My intention is to support beings in their body and life toward a resilient center space and deep connection with their own wisdom, so that choice is opened up to honor oneself through the many dynamic tensions and expressions of life.
My work does involve and consider the physical body, including nervous systems, but regards it as a home where so much more than form alone is present. For me, it’s about meeting people with deep compassion and regard for where they are at, with no agenda beyond an intention to accompany them with loving presence. It’s about understanding what support could look like for them and how in our time together I can help to honor and witness in a way that creates leverage for them in their own self-healing/ balance/ resilience/ vitality journey.

FAQs
what is “the wei” ?
I named my practice the wei as a nod to The Way and wu wei, two Daoist concepts that inspire my personal and community practice. The phonetical ‘way’ also speaks to holding a supportive space for people to find their right way of being and relating that opens up them to their natural state of free flowing energy / love / vitality / wellness.
what is “the dao house” ?
I named my practice the dao house, in honor of the daoist lineage and philosophy that guide my personal and community practice. I loved the idea of including a nod, not only to a house (in the sense of lineage) but also as an expression and feeling of home that is inherent in the work I aspire to facilitate. Growing up as a third generation healing arts collaborator, I have memories of both my mother and aunt, practicing out of the home. It is this homey, warm, personal, and deeply human(e) approach to healing and wellness that continues to inspire my work today as a practice through which people can come home to themselves in their own beautiful way
